Digital X-rays
It is our never-ending goal to meet our patient’s needs with the best possible dentistry and services available. In our efforts to provide the most up-to-date treatment for you we now have available digital x-rays. Digital x-rays have some very positive benefits. Digital x-rays allow us to decrease the amount of radiation you are exposed to. Normally radiation is reduced by more than ½ and some cases up to 9 times less than conventional x-rays. The x-rays are instantaneous. No more waiting while films are being processed. The images can be sent to other dentists or specialists by email should you need to be referred out or ever move from the area. With the aid of the computer these digital x-rays can be viewed or modified in many different ways making diagnosis easier for the doctor. If you have any questions about this new process be sure to ask.
810 Diode Laser
Recent advancements in Laser Technology inspired Dr. Scott to purchase a 810 Diode Laser, a soft tissue laser, which uses water to cool the tissue. The 980 Diode laser can be used in several different procedures in our office. The new laser can be used to contour or remove gum tissue if needed, treat cold sores, and in the treatment of gum disease.
Digital Video Camera
The digital video camera is a very useful tool for both the dentist and the patient. It allows the dentist to view enlarged captured photos of the patient’s mouth. Being able to enlarge these photos makes it much easier to view problems such as cracked or broken teeth. Both the doctor and the patient can view these photos when discussing possible dental concerns and treatment.
